Did you know that many of Disney’s beloved icons are celebrating milestones this year? Donald Duck turns 80. The Haunted Mansion turns 45. Mary Poppins turns 50. Splash Mountain, The Little Mermaid and Disney’s Hollywood Studios all turn 25. The Lion King turns 20. Plus, it is also the 50th anniversary of one of the most pivotal events in Disney theme park history…the 1964-65 World’s Fair.
There’s a way to pay tribute to these amazing icons among many others: the D23 Fanniversary Celebration!
Once again, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is hitting the road to bring the Fanniversary Celebration to 11 cities across the country! (Check out our article from last year’s event here)
In addition to the above mentioned milestones, the 105-minute show will share exclusive video interviews with various Disney Legends and luminaries sharing their experiences with the various milestones being honored.
As an added bonus, never-before-heard songs from Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid will be heard courtesy of Walt Disney Records: The Legacy Collection.
After the show, two rare items from the Walt Disney Archives will also be on display.
